Is OpenAI facing bankruptcy?#

OpenAI claims that the daily cost of chatgpt is about 700,000 US dollars, not including the cost of GPT-4 and DALL-E2. Currently, it is only supported by Microsoft's billion-dollar subsidy and may go bankrupt by 2024.

700k

It's not surprising that they are trying to make money, but this person says that they only have Microsoft's billion-dollar subsidy. Then I would like to ask, where is the cost of our gpt-plus? Did my API not pay or what? With the current dominance of chatgpt's large model strength worldwide, there should be many companies willing to cooperate and making money should not be difficult.

Zuckerberg: No hope for fight with Musk, will not happen#

Since June of this year, these two social media giants have been competing with each other, even challenging each other to a fight in the octagon cage of a comprehensive combat event in Las Vegas. They even said they would livestream it on Threads, one from Facebook to Threads and the other from Twitter to X, traveling back and forth, livestreaming on their respective platforms, which is quite eye-catching globally. I even said I would write a contract and bet with Dogecoin.

musk

Just the day before, Musk said he had already discussed with the Italian government and determined the venue for the match, which will be held in an ancient Roman arena, but the date of the match has not yet been determined. "I may need to have a minor surgery first," Musk said on social media last week. And the recovery time for the surgery could take a few months.
However, our lizard man Zuckerberg said the day before yesterday that Musk was not serious about the fight because he has been unable to finalize the date of the match, and even suggested practicing in Zuckerberg's backyard. In view of this, Zuckerberg believes that it is time to end the discussion about the fight. This back and forth reminds me of Musk's attempt to acquire Twitter.

Sogou Input uploads input content to server#

Researchers at the University of Toronto have found that Tencent's Sogou Input method will send back every word you input to Tencent headquarters. Original article link

sougou

As the most popular Chinese keyboard program, Sogou Input has a monthly active user base of up to 450 million people. Now, citizenlab has discovered that every word input by users will be uploaded to Tencent headquarters, and its encryption method is easily leaked to third-party attackers. The most ridiculous thing is that after citizenlab discovered this vulnerability, they reported it to Tencent headquarters, but due to network firewall reasons, they could not receive a timely response.
I think there are two aspects to this matter. First, the most important thing for an input method is security. In the era of smartphones, input methods can be said to be the most capable of analyzing users' personalities and privacy, including the way we speak. Sometimes they even copy passwords to the clipboard, which the input method will read. Second, why does Tencent upload every word we input to their servers? Except for some network terms that need real-time updates, most words can be completed locally, and real-time updates do not require uploading the words we input. This operation is hard not to arouse suspicion. Why do they do this?

Of course, there is no need to worry too much now, as it has already been fixed. Just update it, all platforms' Sogou Input methods need to be updated, and it is best to disable internet connection.

Sharing two tools#

PDF tool sharing#

Here is a useful PDF tool. Many functions of WPS and other PDF tools require payment or are troublesome to crack (I do not support cracking), but you can choose free tools. In terms of security, although it is a web page, it runs locally, so security can still be guaranteed.
